Back to Texas!

Back "home" to Texas earlier this week after a frantic break back in the UK.
Had a great time up at Moray Firth Radio with John the Prof & his team.
Met a lot of my old mates Saturday night & had a wee night out in Tain.

Jet lag a proving to be a problem, by 7pm I'm ready to call it a night, maybe it's my age?!

Anyway, the music is back in full swing since I returned. Got booked to play the International Accordion Festival in San Antonio this year. It sounds like an awesome festival. Takes place in October.
Did an interview last night for www.onlykaty.com . It's to do with an upcoming performance at iFest here in Houston. Got a phone interview with the BBC this Easter Sunday morning, discussing the Ali MacGregor's Music Collection music book and CD project.

Also, Ali MacGregor's Music Collection is available from iTunes, all proceeds to charity. Please take a listen & purchase a track or two if you can. Click here to listen

That's all for now, I'm "cream crackered"!

Cheers,

Shug

New Blog......

Hi,
Myself & my 'website administrator' decided to drop the 'News' option from the website (www.hughmorrison.co.uk) & replace it with this more informal & hopefully more up to date blog.
Currently I'm in Scotland back in the Royal Burgh of Tain where I was brought up.
Last night I made a visit to the monthly Dingwall Accordion & Fiddle Club. Had a great time, saw many many faces I hadn't seen in a long long time. It was great to see the club so well attended with a packed Seaforth Rooms in the National Hotel in Dingwall.
I played a few sets in the first half with Christine Matheson - piano (who happens to be a Mod Gold medalist) & Jocky Stephen - drums. The highlight for me was without a doubt getting to play a couple of sets in the 2nd half with my great friend & fiddler from the Tain Scottish Dance Band, John Pirie. Christine & Jocky also joined us.
Tonight it's up to see John the Prof for an interview on his 'All Scottish' radio programme.

I'll drop a few lines before I leave Scotland & head back to Texas next week. Got many old 'cronies' to go & visit before then so I'm off to the 'Rose Garden' wall to see what's going on.
It's a beautiful sunny day here in Tain!!

That's all for now,

Shug Morrison
